"... When the aromatic juices began fermenting in the stainless tanks, it became clear that all the work in the vineyard had been worth it. Perhaps at first a little leaner than our 2009 offering, this year’s wine had all the citrus and guava fruit, the high natural acidity, and racy minerality we look for in Albariño. We elected to do a more extended lees stirring this year for a little extra mid-palate enrichment, and gradually the wine took on more depth and texture. The resulting wine is clearly in the tradition of our 2009 Abrente: fresh, lively, and with a texture that adds depth through the long, bracing finish. We are, needless to say, incredibly pleased with the result. . ..."
