A barrel sample, the 2018 Chardonnay Cuvee Indigene is a top barrel selection of the Belle Cote block. The nose is SO SPICY, giving opulent notes of preserved ginger, allspice, coriander seed and white pepper with a core of ripe Bosc pears, warm apricots and baker’s yeast with a waft of orange blossoms. Medium to full-bodied, the power is packed with savory/toasty notes and spiced pears layers, featuring an electric backbone of freshness and compellingly oily texture, finishing very long and decadent. 506 cases are due to be made.
