"The spectacular 2009 Chardonnay Kistler Vineyard rivals the 2009 Chardonnay Kistler Vineyard Cuvee Cathleen (a selection of the best barrels). Both of these 2009s reveal abundant aromas of buttered citrus, crushed rock, brioche, honeysuckle, orange rind and citrus oil. They are full-bodied with zesty acidity and purity and the oak is pushed well to the background. As for the drinking curve on the 2009 Chardonnays, because of their perfumed styles, I suspect they will be delicious when released in a year and evolve for 5-8 years."

Vivid gold. High-pitched, spicy aromas of lemon and lime, with deeper pear and melon qualities and a touch of toasty lees. Supple and creamy on entry, then more taut in the mid-palate, offering juicy melon and orchard fruit flavors firmed by a bitter citrus note. A kick of peppery spice adds cut to the long, impressively focused finish. This wine marks the 30th vintage for this bottling at Kistler.
