2009 ブライアント・ファミリー DB4 カベルネ・ソーヴィニヨン

2009 Bryant Family DB4 Cabernet Sauvignon

ナパのカルトワインのひとつ、ブライアント・ファミリーのセカンドレーベルのカベルネ・ソーヴィニヨン。

The Bettina Bryant Proprietary Red Wine is a gorgeous blend of Bordeaux varietals sourced from three of David Abreu’s own exceptional estate vineyards – Madrona, Thorevilos, and Lucia Howell Mountain.  A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Petit Verdot, and made with the same attention to detail as Bryant, this wine is beautifully layered and complex.

ワインメーカー Helen Keplinger’s Tasting Notes:

The 2009 DB4 bursts with sweet black cherry, plum, bittersweet chocolate and black licorice notes.  The palate is juicy and full, with mouth-filling, plush tannins and lovely minerality.  This wine is fairly approachable, but will benefit from a 30 minute decant for the first 12 months.

" The 2009 DB 4 flows across the palate with heady notes of rose petals, sweet red berries and truffles. It is a gorgeous, totally sexy wine that captures the essence of the Bryant house style at a price that is affordable for mere mortals. Finessed, silky tannins grace the exceptional, polished finish. This is a terrific showing from Don Bryant and his team. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2021.

Don Bryant’s hillside vineyard occupies a gorgeous position above Lake Hennessey. The wines capture the very best qualities of what makes Napa Valley so compelling. Although they are quite showy when young, the wines also age exceptionally well. The 2009s are strikingly beautiful. They aren’t huge wines, but rather Cabernets that impress for their superb balance. The 2010s will thrill readers who appreciate a bolder, more powerful style. The Bettina Bryant is a new wine Don Bryant has dedicated to his wife Bettina made from fruit sourced from David Abreu’s vineyards Madrona Ranch, Thorevilos and Lucia Howell Mountain. I was also able to convince Bryant to show me the second wine of Bryant, DB Four, although it took every ounce of my persuasive powers.
