2010 Jones Family Cabernet Sauvignon The Sisters
ワインメーカー・ノート (トーマス・リバース・ブラウン)
"The 2010 The Sisters is easily the best Sisters we have produced. Several factors came together to create a wonderful wine: my team now has its arms around the property; the 2010 vintage conditions set up nicely for the vineyard site, and low yields created concentration. The successful wines in 2010 are connected by a completeness that only comes from true ripeness. The vineyard had its latest harvest to date but harvest was completed before any of the October rains hit. The Sisters always shows a bit more red fruited than the Estate Cabernet, and it is the concentration of red fruits that sets the 2010 The Sisters apart from previous vintages. There’s a juiciness to the wine that makes it hard not to drink now. The higher toned profile always suggests a wine for early consumption but I don’t think this is in any danger of falling apart any time soon. The 2010 The Sisters is one of those rare wines that drinks well now, in middle age, and in old age."

The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon The Sisters offers up freshly cut flowers, sweet red berries and spices. The Sisters is an incredibly juicy, approachable wine with tons of early appeal. The acidity and vibrancy of the vintage come through, but ultimately this is one of the more open 2010s readers are likely to come across. A sleek, sensual wine, the 2010 is incredibly inviting from the very first taste. It is also a terrific value within the context of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2024.
The Jones family purchased their property on the lower slopes of Howell Mountain in 1992. For the first few years they sold fruit before starting to make their own wines in 1996. David Abreu manages the vineyards while Thomas Rivers Brown makes the wines. The 2010s have turned out just as great as I had hoped they would based on my barrel tastings last year. Jones Family Vineyards is one of the most exciting emerging properties in Napa Valley today.
