Belle Cote and Ma Belle Fille vineyards went into the blend this year. The nose is firmly shut down to begin, needing persistent swirling to unlock this latent powerhouse. Intense scents of pomelo, green guava, apple tart and ripe juicy peaches emerge, commingled with honeycomb, chopped nuts, fresh ginger and brioche. The rich, hedonic, full-bodied palate packs a lot of punch into a remarkably graceful, satiny-textured package, lifted by bright, refreshing acidity and finishing with epic length and a whole firework display of spices coming through. It’s a jaw-dropper. 230 cases were made.
